September 15, 2014: There are several Google-based holidays in September (the company was founded on September 4, 1998), but for some reason today is google.com Day. (And apparently today, they’re having a big announcement in India, possibly the new Android One device.) It’s also Felt Hat Day today, which mirrors Straw Hat Day back in the springtime. Today’s the day you’re supposed to put your summer straw hat away, and get the felt hat back out for cooler weather. Finally, it’s International Dot Day, which celebrates “creativity, courage, and collaboration.” I guess it’s a classroom-y thing? Their tagline doesn’t really spell out the purpose, which is bad form for an obscure holiday.
