Of all the things I miss, having gone wheat-free, deep-fried seafood is up there at the top. Though I don’t think I’ve ever had fried scallops — shrimp were more my thing, followed by battered fish. (I only discovered about a month before we were moving away from Florida that there’s a place at Downtown Disney that does gluten-free fish and chips! It’s Cookes of Dublin [and Raglan Road also does them]. They have a separate fryer set aside, and will do anything you want in the GF batter — fish, shrimp, onion rings, even mozzarella sticks.)
