A little something fun to celebrate every day!

October 13, 2013: International Skeptics Day; Yorkshire Pudding Day

October 13, 2013: I want to believe today is International Skeptics Day, but I just can’t. I need proof! (Of course, Google proof is hardly proof at all. Turns out this holiday also occurs on January 13, but October references beat out January in the Google results. AND, it’s sometimes celebrated on the first Friday the 13th of the year.) It’s also hard to believe that Yorkshire Pudding Day is actually a thing. Oddly enough, this is the US celebration — the British have their own Yorkshire Pudding Day on February 3. So despite the fact that they’re hard to find here in the states, they have their own day. Which just goes to show that Americans will make a food celebration day for anything. They look delicious — a puffy, hollow-centered kind of popover, meant for both sweet and savory applications. The fact that I had to look up what they were (“pudding” is very different between the US and the UK) should clue you in that these are firmly on the list of things I’ve never eaten.
