November 30, 2013: I know, a moose eating mousse was the obvious choice for National Mousse Day. He’s probably also wearing hair mousse. It was also this day back in 1931 when The Joy of Cooking was originally published. It was not only one of the first cookbooks to use the format of a list of ingredients followed by detailed instructions, but it was also the book that Julia Child initially used to learn how to cook. The book is still available, now in its 9th revision as a 75th anniversary edition, which is pretty incredible.
