A little something fun to celebrate every day!

November 28, 2013: Red Planet Day; French Toast Day

November 28, 2013: Red Planet Day is a celebration of the 1964 launch of Mariner 4, the first spacecraft to obtain close-up images of Mars. It was only then that we learned that Mars is populated by terrifying bat-spider creatures. Today is also French Toast Day, which (for me) takes a distant backseat to pancakes. Mostly because French toast can turn out way too eggy, too easily. Still, if you’re looking for something to slather syrup on, you could do worse.

It’s also Thanksgiving Day here in the USA; people all across the country will be eating overly-dry turkey and watching American football. I’ve never been a fan of turkey, so I usually had macaroni and cheese or Spaghetti-Os for Thanksgiving dinner as a kid. Now that I’m older, we’ve been known to make a Thanksgiving jambalaya.
