May 31, 2014: National Macaroon Day; Speak in Complete Sentences Day

May 31, 2014: Today is National Macaroon Day, not to be confused with National Macaron Day on March 20; we’re celebrating the soft coconut cookies today, not the tiny cake-ish sandwich-y thingies. Many comparisons of the two sweet treats (such as the graphics over here make the coconut macaroons out to be hideous monstrosities, but I totally love them. Then again, I’ve never had a macaron, so I guess I just don’t know what I’m missing. (What really gets my goat is when the contestants on Top Chef say they’re making a macaroon, then end up making a macaron. They’re totes pronounced differently!

My use of “totes” just then brings up the fact that it’s also Speak in Complete Sentences Day, so I totes should have written “totally”. I’m LOL at myself for that one, and maybe U R 2. SMH.
