May 22, 2014: Break out the black eyeliner and dust off those The Cure CDs, friends — it’s World Goth Day! What better holiday to pair it with than the unassuming, fairly boring National Vanilla Pudding Day. Although, “Goth Pudding” would make an excellent band name of any genre.
Today is also Buy a Musical Instrument Day, which is always a great opportunity to bring music into your life. And be aware, musical instruments don’t have to be expensive! You can make great music with a $5 harmonica or a $30 ukulele just as easily as you can with a $1,000 violin or a $10,000 grand piano. (And really, the cheaper instruments are usually much easier to learn, which gets you making music that much faster.)
