May 18, 2014: National Cheese Souffle Day is a reason for another episode of food confessions: I don’t believe I’ve ever had a souffle of any kind. But if I were to have one, I’d be delighted to go with cheese. It’s also Mother Whistler Day, which (it would appear) has nothing whatsoever to do with the painting Arrangement in Grey and Black No.1, or with the artist James McNeill Whistler, or his mother who posed for the painting. It is, instead, a holiday to celebrate people who can whistle! Did you know that there are tons of international whistling competitions out there? Participating in one has always been one of my bucket list items. Someday, perhaps. *TWEET*
