May 15, 2014: There is a variety of dates out there for Straw Hat Day, which is the day when you’re supposed to put your felt hat away and bring out the straw boater for daily wear. We’ll go with Philadelphia’s day, since they seem like a dapper crew up there. We’ll revisit the whole concept in reverse on September 15th, when you swap hats again and celebrate Felt Hat Day.
National Chocolate Chip Day is also a holiday of mystery; some out there say it’s today, some say it’s August 4th. Some say today is actually National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, while others say that’s August 4th, and today is just for the chips. (I’m going with today for the chips, supported by Food.com, ABC, CNN, and the Today Show.) Either way, chips alone or in cookies, it’s all delicious!
