May 10, 2014: It’s the second Saturday in May, which brings us both National Windmill Day and National Miniature Golf Day, which seem like a match made in heaven. Although technically, the windmill holiday is National Mill Day or National Mills Day in Holland, and it’s a two-day affair over the weekend. But for those of us who don’t have mills on every corner, it’s nice to specify what kind of mills they are.
I guess this is the opening of miniature golf season, since we’re headed into summer? There’s another miniature golf holiday in September, which I suppose is the close of the season. Although here in Florida, we can mini-golf all year ’round. Which is pretty darned nice, eener neener.
