March 9, 2014: Check Your Batteries Day happens twice a year, when we start and end Daylight Saving Time. So give your smoke alarms a poke, and make sure the batteries in there are good to go. (In Daylight Saving Time news, YAY!! Back to summertime! I wish we could just change the clocks here in the spring and stick with that time forevermore.)
Girl Scout Sunday is the first day of Girl Scout Week; the week itself always encompasses March 12th, which is the day back in 1912 when Juliette Gordon Low officially registered the first 18 scouts in Savannah, Georgia. Just like Oreo cookies, the Girl Scouts are turning 102 this year. What a coincidence!
Last but not least, today is Panic Day. Which … I hope I don’t have to celebrate. I certainly don’t need a reason to panic more than I already do, as I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder. So fingers crossed that we can all spend Panic Day calm, mellow, and free of our usual worries and obsessions.
