June 5, 2014: Happy Apple II Day, celebrating the day back in 1977 when the first Apple II was released. (Of course, I had to stylize it as Apple ][ in the doodle.) We owned an Apple IIc when I was a kid, and that thing was awesome. I didn’t learn how to use a PC for a really long time, because that computer did everything I needed. I had my dippy little pixellated video games, my word processor, my 400bps modem that screwed onto the back. I visited dungeons in dial-up BBS systems on that thing. *sigh* … good times.
It’s also National Moonshine Day today; I don’t think it’s too much of a Food Confessions shock to tell you that I’ve never had moonshine. I do find it fascinating that liquor companies are now putting out their own branded moonshines, frequently in canning jars. Maybe I’ll give it a shot, now that it’s probably not going to permanently break my liver.
