June 15, 2014: Today is Smile Power Day, which is supposed to show the power of a big, bright smile. Sounds to me, however, like an opportunity to creep people out with gigantic fake smiles. I highly recommend it, especially if you accompany it with comments such as “your hide will make a fine poncho.” The power of your smile will keep pesky people away for a long time!

On the subject of pests, today is one of three yearly National Bug Busting Days in the UK. Although perhaps it wasn’t the nicest move, choosing to celebrate a national holiday across the pond that’s all about lice and nits. I promise, I’ll keep my eyes out for less disgusting international days.
