July 16, 2013: I bet this fancy tux-wearing dude was hoping for filet mignon, but that day doesn’t happen until August 13. No, instead, he’s being forced to celebrate Corn Fritters Day. My research shows that corn fritters come in two basic categories — round and deep-fried like donut holes, or flattish and chunkier, like crab cakes. And my use of “chunkier” is another perfect example of why I shouldn’t write menu copy. At any rate, this dude should still celebrate Personal Chefs Day, because I bet those are the best darned fritters around.
