July 13, 2014: I’m in heaven! It’s National French Fries Day. Salty potato-based foods are my personal Kryptonite, and French fries are at the top of that list. Favorites include McDonald’s and Red Robin, though I’ve rarely met a fry I didn’t like. On the flip side, it’s Barbershop Music Appreciation Day. Not one of my favorite musical genres, but when done well, it’s tolerable.

I put notable birthdays in my holiday list, and sometimes recognize them in the doodles. I was too enamored of the idea of singing fries not to draw this doodle, but I have to point out that today is the shared birthday of two iconic captains: Patrick Stewart and Harrison Ford! They’re only two years apart in age, but it might surprise you as to who is older.
