January 19, 2014: It’s been a while since I’ve had a quad-holiday doodle! Let’s start with Tin Can Day, marking this day back in 1825 when Ezra Daggett was first issued a patent for storing food in cans. Today is also National Popcorn Day, so sit back and eat a bowl of the snack food while listening to the catchy synth-pop tune. (I like that YouTube video because of the record player. Although I’m horrified that they don’t have one of those little snap-in plastic doodads in the center hole.)

For Archery Day, I’d say go out and read some Hunger Games. Or enjoy the exploits of Hawkeye or the Green Arrow. Or if you’re in the mood to read something a bit darker and gloomier, you could celebrate Edgar Allan Poe Day (born this day in 1809) by reading some of his spookier works.
