January 16, 2014: I’ve never really been that much into dragon-based fantasy stuff; my tastes run more toward space-faring sci-fi. So I’ll let the rest of you party down for Appreciate a Dragon Day. (Maybe if more people celebrated this holiday, Smaug wouldn’t be so desolate.) I will, however, partake of International Hot and Spicy Food Day. I used to be a mild-only kind of girl; throughout 17 years of marriage to a guy who can eat a habañero pepper whole, I’ve been able to ratchet myself up to medium. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to handle foods of volcanic hotness, but I’ve learned to appreciate a good spicy kick.
