December 7, 2013: Happy Cotton Candy Day! Or candy floss, fairy floss, fluffy stuff, spun sugar, or whatever else you’d like to call it. Also, happy Civil Aviation Day, an actual UN-approved international holiday (although I’m sure the UN would never allow cotton candy to pilot an aircraft). Many years ago, I made it almost halfway through the process of getting my private pilot’s license. Unfortunately, it was interrupted by Crohn’s Disease, which took quite some time to diagnose and treat. I still hope to get back to finish up someday, especially now that there’s a new category of sport pilot license for smaller planes that takes less schooling to complete. It’s also Letter Writing Day today, and while I’m sure that they mean for me to write letters on paper and mail them to people (which I haven’t done in years), I figured it could also apply to writing a single letter. Boom, got ’em on a technicality.
