December 1, 2013: Day Without Art Day; Eat a Red Apple Day

December 1, 2013: We’re in the home stretch of 2013, which is incredible. Where did this year go? Today is Day Without Art Day, a serious day meant to make the public aware that AIDS can reach everywhere. Since its inception in 1989, it’s grown from a few museums shutting their doors to over 8,000 museums, galleries, schools and art centers taking part.

On a lighter note, and part of the massive list of food holidays in December, today is Eat a Red Apple Day. Which … no. Gross. As seen in this Basic Instructions comic, my attitude toward red apples is much the same as Scott’s. For me, it’s green or nothing. And 99% of the time, it’s Granny Smith.
