August 30, 2014: It’s a busy one today! First off, it’s National Toasted Marshmallow Day, so go get some Jet-Pufts and a sharpened stick. Me, I prefer my marshmallows cold and untoasted; I’ve never seen the appeal for burning them and making them all gooey. It’s also International Bacon Day (a separate holiday from the recent Bacon Day, this one spans the entire globe). I don’t know how bacon and marshmallows would go together. Probably about as well as the monster and his bride here.

Last but not least, today is Frankenstein Day, in honor of Mary Shelley’s Birthday back in 1797. Come to think of it, I’m not sure I’ve ever actually read Frankenstein, though I’ve seen several film adaptations. I should grab a copy and see how it holds up 200 years later.
