August 26, 2013: Here in the United States, it’s National Dog Day, a celebration created to help inspire people to adopt and rescue man’s best friend. It’s also interesting that this day falls just outside the tail end of the “dog days of summer,” which here in Florida are the most ghastly months of the year. It’s also Toilet Paper Day, which I think is something we can all get behind.
