April 9, 2014: Name Yourself Day; Chinese Almond Cookie Day

April 9, 2014: If you’re unhappy with your existing name, good news! Today is Name Yourself Day, so you can change things up until you’re happy with your moniker. Item of note: I actually legally changed my first name around 15 years ago. I was given a different name on my birth certificate, in order to have something more professional-sounding for adulthood, but was always called Missy. So when I turned out to be an artsy-fartsy not-too-professional type of person, I just legally went with Missy.

It’s also Chinese Almond Cookie Day, which I had to look up, and I’m pretty sure I’ve had them in the past. Delicate and poofy, kind of like Russian Tea Cakes, but with a big almond pressed into the middle. I wonder if I could work some of those up without any wheat flour.

(I just picked “Lou” because it seems like a friendly name. For a cookie.)
