April 14, 2014: Yes indeed, there is more than one Dictionary Day; October 16 celebrates the birthday of Noah Webster, while this one in April celebrates the day in 1828 when the American Dictionary of the English Language copyright was registered. It wasn’t the first dictionary, but it certainly made an impact. Because who needs the extra U in “color” anyway? This one also falls within National Library Week, so we’re all about the words right now. Sweet, sweet words!
It’s also National Dolphin Day, so let’s all think kindly on the mammals who are most likely much smarter than we are.
