April 13, 2014: National Peach Cobbler Day; Scrabble Day

April 13, 2014: It feels like we’ve covered a lot of foods this week. We’ll close out Sunday with National Peach Cobbler Day, honoring a food I’ve never eaten and never will. It’s not the cobbler part — I’ve had apple cobbler, and it was lovely. It’s the peach part. I like most fruits, but something about the flavor of peaches is awful to my taste buds. I don’t even like artificial peach. (On that note, artificial banana tastes nothing like a banana, and yet I love it.)

Today is also Scrabble Day, honoring the birthday of Scrabble creator Alfred M. Butts (tee hee) back in 1899. I love a good game of Scrabble, or one of its several app-based clones. In fact, if you happen to own WordFeud for your mobile device or tablet, I’m always available for a game. (Username “themissy”.) (I tried Words with Friends, but it was too buggy and sluggish for me.)
